Pane in the Glass

I work in both mosaics and stained glass.  This began about 15 years ago when I took my first mosaics course through Ann Arbor Community Education.  I fell in love with it!  I continued to take classes in mosaics for about five years.  Then I took a beginning class in stained glass, also through Ann Arbor Community Education.  Now I had two loves!

I remember coming home after the stained glass class and telling my husband I needed to set up a shop for myself in the basement. This was about eight years ago and I have been busy in that shop ever since.  I enjoy designing pieces and choosing the colors and textures to match the image I’ve created in my mind.  The work is creatively fulfilling, constantly challenging, and incredibly calming.

I appreciate having an outlet through which to share my work with others. It enables me to experiment with different approaches and understand how my work impacts others.  As I approach retirement, ending a long career in education, I know that creating both mosaic and stained glass pieces will become an even bigger part of my life.
