“If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last thought life
If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder without any such gift from the fairies, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in.” Rachel Carson
My inspiration for creating fairies comes from the quote above of Rachel Carson, a marine biologist and author from the early 20th century.
My childhood was filled with adults that saw the beauty of the natural world and taught me to keep alive this inborn sense of wonder.
It is my hope that each fairy, unicorn, or dragon I create will encourage and nurture this sense of wonder.
Whether you are 6 or 96, I hope my creatures will kindle your imagination, inspiring you to experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world, and play.
